The Chinese government has completed a fully-equipped hospital in Bentiu town of Unity state in order to boost bilateral relations between China and South Sudan.
The hospital manager, Zhang Xinmin said on Wednesday that China is also planning to build a larger hospital in three months in the state to cater for the increasing number of patients.
[Zhang Xinmin]: “We came here to build our hospital and the people here have been friendly to us. We are confident that as we build other hospitals, they will be better and better. We have so many facilities here and the machines we have are modern. The only problem is that the hospital here is very small. We hope to build another hospital in three months’ time. All the ministers are very happy that we built a hospital here. The health minister and Governor Taban for instance have been coming here severally to see what’s happening here and they have constantly pledged to assist us.”
The hospital that started operating this week is equipped with surgical, orthopedics, gynecology and obstetrics departments.
